Access and Egress
Access and egress was the topic of the April meeting of the South Wales
branch, presented by Allen Smith, director of Marubeni Komatsu UK. The
evening was well attended with over 45 members.
Allen gave a brief history of the Marubeni Komatsu Company and then
talked in detail about the problems faced by manufactures concerning
access and egress and the solutions they are coming up with.
The future developments in access and egress were of interest to all and
a video of research undertaken in Australia of a fully automated dump
truck using a GPS navigation system was a clear insight into the future.
The presentation obviously provoked some very well thought out questions
from the members.
