Metso
Process Systems
On the 8th February 26 members attended a
presentation from Cambell Johnson of Metso Minerals on ‘Metso process
systems’ at the Heronston Hotel. Cambell is a project manager systems
engineer who is based in Macon, France. He detailed the background of
Metso with regard to it being the leading global supplier of solutions
equipment and services for rock and mineral processing along with their
business ethics and focus. The long term vision for Metso is to be the
leading knowledge based technology company and performance provider with
an aim to improve the productivity and competitiveness of customers.
The
diversity of the Metso product range for the aggregate industry was
outlined along with the main production source of the Metso equipment that
comes into the UK market being from the plants in Finland and France. Campell
also explained the complete systems capabilities that Metso can now offer
which includes ground work and installation, through to commissioning of
the completed plant. Examples of completed projects such as the plant at
Carrieres de la Loire (France) were shown relating to a number of
different applications of the complete systems packages offered by Metso.
