Condition Monitoring

On the 11th January Rob East, Area Sales Manager for Fuchs Lubricants talked to the branch about condition monitoring.  He described the four basic methods of condition monitoring being visual, performance, wear debris analysis and vibration monitoring and the various methods of monitoring each.  He highlighted the most commonly used monitoring methods for the four types of condition monitoring.

He outlined the purpose for all condition monitoring techniques including to reduce unscheduled breakdown, reduced lubricant usage, improve equipment life, bring about process improvements, improve health & safety and reduce waste.   If  condition monitoring is implemented effectively it can potentially help to reduce costs.
