The South Wales Branch of the Institute of Quarrying is a very active Branch with 171 members throughout Pembroke, South, West and Mid Glamorgan, Gwent, Monmouth, and Powys.

The Branch holds seven or eight technical meetings each year along with an annual Heath and Safety Seminar. All technical meetings and seminars count towards Continual Professional Development (CPD) requirements, and certificates are issued to confirm attendance.

Prior to each Technical Meeting a buffet is provided by the Branch. Meetings are also open to non-members.

The Branch runs two very successful social events each year; the Annual Dinner and Dance, which is held in Cardiff and our Golf Day, which is held at Whitchurch Golf Club.

In 2004 the Branch hosted the Annual Conference when it was presented with the President's Trophy for its contribution to the Industry.

From funds raised by the Branch, an annual donation is made to a local charity of the Chairman's choice.
